History Of The Booth

The Pastie Bakery is family owned. We have been in business for over
15 years. The Rowe Family, Steve, Cathy, Cathralynn, and Steven, have
been attending Renaissance Fairs for over 20 years. We wanted to
purchase period food at fairs, reasonably priced, and it to be home
style cooking and large enough portions to fill up on. That was not
easily done. We decided we could do this. So we did.

The children grew up, moved out, and didn't work the business. It was
run by Steve and Cathy. Sadly, Cathy had to give up working the booth
due to health reasons. Steve ran it until January 2004, then to our
pleasure his son came on board. Now it has become a father and son
adventure. We proudly make our own pasties now, based upon a 400 year
old true English Cornish Pastie Recipe.

We sell 6" bread bowls, a bowl filled overflowing with clam chowder, beef
stew, or chili. The one pound potatoes are fully loaded with all the
fixings. Of course, the traditional funnel cakes, including fruit and
whipped cream, are so very popular. We have gone back to selling juicy
turkey legs at selected events, plus added Cornish hens and ribs. Onion
rings and salads round out our menu. We hope to see you at events we do,
such as Renaissance Fairs, SCA events, Celtic and Irish Festivals. We have
events from Florida to California, and lots of states in between. We also
cater weddings and special events.
